Scholarships and affordability

Financial aid and scholarships

Plan your budget with Summit’s program fees, scholarships, and installment options. Qualifying Summit scholarships can combine up to $2,000 per student per program enrollment. Outside financial aid is separate.

Early-commitment scholarships

Applying early can reduce your program cost. Request pricing for your preferred program and session to learn the current scholarship amount, deadline, and eligibility requirements.

Your complete application date determines the offer. After acceptance, confirm with the $100 deposit within seven days. Summit’s review time will not reduce your award, and admissions remain rolling after scholarship deadlines.

Bring a friend

A qualifying referral earns $250 for you and $100 for the friend you introduce. If two friends decide together without one introducing the other, each can receive $175 instead. These arrangements share one $350 award; they cannot be combined for the same pair.

You can refer more than one friend. Each student’s total Summit scholarships remain capped at $2,000 per program enrollment.

Tell Summit who introduced whom in your application notes or by email; both students confirm the introduction. Each new student can name one referrer. Referrals may be between different Summit program cycles. Tell us early when possible; genuine late claims receive individual review.

Referral awards are partial refunds paid later. Both students must have paid their agreed balances in full and reached their own no-refund periods, starting 59 days before their sessions begin, with no earlier withdrawal or unresolved payment/refund dispute. The later student’s qualification determines the timing. Attendance is not required.

For confirmed qualifying claims, Summit initiates the refund within 14 calendar days after both students meet those conditions. Bank processing may take longer. Pay your scheduled installments in full without subtracting a pending referral award. We confirm the handling of late claims individually.

An honestly earned award is honored after a later exceptional refund. If you receive a full program-fee refund yourself, your own scholarship refund already received counts toward the amount returned to you.

University scholarships and outside aid

A $500 affiliated-university scholarship applies when your university’s official study-abroad-office website lists the relevant Summit program or provider as approved, preferred, or recommended. Share the URL or a screenshot so Summit can confirm eligibility.

A general resource link, blog mention, or student-club post does not qualify. A qualifying listing does not guarantee course-credit approval; your home university decides how credits apply.

Your university or an outside provider decides whether its grants, scholarships, loans, or other aid can fund your program. Ask about approval, documents, deadlines, and when funds will be available. Summit provides program and cost information.

Outside aid does not count toward Summit’s $2,000 scholarship cap. An installment schedule spreads payments without reducing the program fee.

Paying in installments

Applications are free. Before you pay the deposit, Summit gives you your agreed price, confirmed scholarships, and a written payment schedule.

Your schedule uses your selected session’s start date, including the later London start for Prague B1. An agreed price is preserved if prices later change for new applicants.

Confirming at least 240 days before your session

Standard early-entry payment schedule
WhenPayment
Within seven days of acceptance$100 confirmation deposit
Within 45 days of confirmationAn additional $900
180 days before your session startsAbout 25% of the balance remaining after the first $1,000
135 days before your session startsAbout 35% of that balance
90 days before your session startsThe exact remaining balance

Amounts use your agreed total after confirmed upfront scholarships. The first two percentage-based installments round to the nearest $50; the last clears the remaining balance. Pending referral refunds stay separate.

Joining closer to departure

Fewer payments apply when there is less time. These are starting points for the schedule agreed before your deposit.

180–239 days
Three payments after the deposit
120–179 days
Two payments after the deposit
91–119 days
Normally one balance payment by 90 days before start; ask about a shorter plan if needed
90 days or fewer
An individually agreed one- or two-payment plan, if admission and arrangements are feasible

Days are measured from confirmation to your session’s on-site start. The balance is normally due 90 days before start. Late applicants receive a feasible schedule before paying their deposit, with no retroactively overdue installments.

Need more time? Request an extension or a customized schedule. Any revised dates and amounts are agreed in writing. A request alone does not cancel your place or scholarship.

Cancellation and refund policy

Student assistantships

Summit is not recruiting student assistants. If you ask and useful on-program work is available, we may consider an agreed role with a scholarship of up to $500, within the $2,000 combined cap. Roles and awards are not guaranteed; student assistants do not replace responsible staff.

Questions about paying for Summit

More questions about studying with Summit
What kinds of affordability options may be available?

Summit offers early-commitment, student referral, and affiliated-university scholarships. Qualifying Summit awards can combine up to $2,000 per student per program enrollment. Outside aid and installment payments can also help with your budget.

Does Summit offer need-based financial aid?

Summit does not currently offer a broad need-based grant. Explore early-commitment, referral, and university scholarships, outside aid, and installment schedules. Assistantships are considered only when a student asks and useful work is available.

Can I use financial aid from my university?

Your university decides whether institutional, federal, state, or private funding can support an outside program. Ask about approval, documents, deadlines, and disbursement. Summit provides current program and cost materials.

What is a student assistantship scholarship?

Summit is not recruiting student assistants. If you ask and useful on-program work is available, we may consider a scholarship of up to $500 for an agreed role. It counts toward the $2,000 combined Summit scholarship cap. A role or award is not guaranteed, and students do not replace responsible staff.

How does a student referral scholarship work?

A qualifying referral earns $250 for the student making the introduction and $100 for the new student. Two friends who decide together can instead receive $175 each. Individual scholarship caps apply. Awards are later partial refunds, after both students pay in full and enter their own no-refund periods; do not subtract them from installments. Tell Summit who introduced whom so both students can confirm.

Can scholarships or payment options be combined?

Yes. Qualifying Summit scholarships can combine up to $2,000 per student per program enrollment, including any assistantship award. Outside university aid and other external funding do not use that cap; their providers set their own rules. Installments change when you pay, not the price. Pending referral refunds do not reduce scheduled payments.

When will I know the amounts and deadlines?

Request pricing and current scholarship amounts, deadlines, and eligibility requirements for your preferred program and session. The Financial Aid & Scholarships page explains awards and payment schedules. Summit confirms your eligible scholarships, agreed price, and payment dates before you pay your deposit.
