Application dates and deadlines
When to apply
Summit uses rolling admissions: we review applications as they arrive. We plan our programs for groups of approximately 20 to 30 students. Space is limited, so we encourage you to apply early for your preferred program.
From application to confirmation
Starting early gives you time for your interview, university approval, and funding arrangements.
-
When you’re ready
Submit your application
Choose your program and tell us about your interests. Applications are free.
-
Usually within five business days
Application review
We review applications as they arrive. If you meet the initial requirements, we’ll invite you to a short personal interview.
-
After your interview and acceptance
Confirm your place
Confirm with a $100 deposit within seven days of acceptance. It goes toward the program cost.
-
Before the program begins
Pay in installments
The number of installments depends on when you confirm. Summit gives you the amounts and dates before you pay the deposit.
Early-commitment scholarships
Submit your complete application by the deadline for your program’s early-commitment scholarship. After acceptance, confirm with a $100 deposit within seven days to receive that offer.
The scholarship deadline applies to your complete application, not the date we finish reviewing it. Summit’s review time will not move you into a smaller award. Admissions remain rolling after a scholarship deadline, subject to space and arrangements.
See early-commitment offersYour university may have earlier deadlines
Check with your study abroad office about approval to join an outside program, with your academic advisor about credit transfer, and with your financial-aid office about funding deadlines and when funds can be released.
Applying closer to departure? Contact Summit about availability for your preferred program. We may be able to consider a later application if space and arrangements allow. University approvals and travel documents still need to be ready in time.
Once a program is full, we cannot accept more participants. Applying early gives you more time to make these arrangements.
Refund dates for your session
If your plans change after you confirm, your refund depends on when Summit receives your written withdrawal request. These dates apply to payments received, including your deposit and installments.

Questions about timing
More questions about studying with SummitDoes applying reserve my place?
Submitting the free application starts the review process; it does not reserve a place. After acceptance, confirm your participation with a $100 deposit within seven days. Summit shares your agreed price and payment schedule before you pay.
Will I have an admission decision within five business days?
Five business days is our usual timeframe for the initial application review. The personal interview follows that review, and we share the admission decision after the interview.
Can I still apply if I missed my university’s study abroad deadline?
Summit may still be able to consider your application. Contact us about your preferred program and speak with your university about any approvals you need. Summit’s availability does not change your university’s rules for credit or financial aid.
Does applying early guarantee a scholarship?
To qualify for an early-commitment offer, submit your complete application by its deadline, receive acceptance, and pay the $100 confirmation deposit within seven days of acceptance. Summit’s review time will not reduce your award. Applications remain rolling after scholarship deadlines, subject to availability.
