Application process

How to apply

Apply to study abroad with Summit Global Education in Europe or Brazil. Tell us about your interests and the program you have in mind. Applications are free, and our team will guide you through the review, interview, and next steps.

Who can apply

We welcome undergraduate and graduate students from all majors, as well as recent university graduates. Applicants should:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be enrolled at a university or have recently graduated.
  • Have completed at least one semester of university coursework.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5, or an average of 77/100 for students assessed on a 100-point scale.

If your GPA is lower, you can still apply. We review these applications individually with a letter of reference, preferably from a professor, and a brief explanation of your academic record.

Step 1

Complete the online application

The form asks for your name, email, university, program choice, and academic interests. You’ll also write a short response about what you hope to get out of the program. There is no application fee and no payment is required to submit.

Tell us why you’re interested in this program, what draws you to Europe or Brazil, and what you hope to learn. A few thoughtful paragraphs give us a useful starting point for our conversation.

Write in your own words, rather than asking AI to write for you. It doesn’t need to be polished. We want to hear your personality, your questions, and your reasons for wanting to go.

Use Additional Notes for any questions or information you would like us to know.

Step 2

Application review and a personal interview

Our team reviews your application, usually within five business days. We consider your academic background, interests, and readiness to study and travel with the group.

If your application meets the initial requirements, we’ll email you with an initial approval and invite you to a short personal interview. We can speak by FaceTime, Google Meet, Zoom, or a phone call.

We’ll discuss your goals, answer your questions, and make sure you understand what to expect. After the interview, we’ll let you know the admission decision and how to confirm your place if accepted.

Step 3

Confirm your place

Once accepted, you confirm your participation with a $100 deposit within seven days. The deposit counts toward the program cost.

Summit gives you the agreed program price, confirmed scholarships, and payment amounts and dates before you pay the deposit. Earlier applicants can spread payments over more installments; later applicants receive a shorter schedule. You can request an extension or a customized schedule, agreed in writing.

Read our cancellation and refund policy before paying your deposit. You can also explore scholarships and financial aid options.

Preparing to study abroad

As you plan, speak with your academic advisor or study abroad office about credit transfer. Summit provides course and academic-partner information to help your university review the program.

Before departure, you’ll complete a confidential medical questionnaire and take part in orientation. Summit provides guidance on travel, housing, and life with the group, with another orientation when you arrive.

Application questions

More questions about studying with Summit
Do I need to be a business major?

No. Students from all majors can apply. Choose courses that interest you and discuss how they could count toward your degree with your academic advisor.

Can I apply if my university is not listed in the form?

Yes. Select Other and enter your university’s name. The list in the form does not limit which universities students may apply from.

Can I apply with a GPA below 2.5?

Yes. We consider these applications individually. You will need a letter of reference, preferably from a professor, and a brief explanation of your academic record. Mention this in the form’s Additional Notes so we can follow up about those materials.

What if my university already works with Summit?

A $500 scholarship applies when your university’s official study-abroad-office website lists the relevant Summit program or provider as approved, preferred, or recommended. Share the listing URL or a screenshot for confirmation. A general resource link or student-club mention does not qualify. The listing does not guarantee transfer credit.

What will we discuss in the interview?

We’ll talk about your academic interests, why you want to study abroad, and what you hope to learn. It is also time for you to ask questions about classes, travel, and life with the group. We want to get to know you and help you understand the program.
